We are Carlee and Russ, a husband and wife team building wildly profitable businesses together and the founders of Haus of Business.
We help ambitious service based business owners build more profit, find more time, create more freedom and live more life.
We are not here to tell you how to run a business from the sidelines, we’re here to share not only what has worked for us in the past and what is continuing to work today.
Haus of Business was not born out of a desire to become business mentors, it was born because we’re sick of seeing amazing businesses struggle and owners ready to quit on their dreams because quite honestly it was all too much and too hard.
It’s built on the foundations of more than two decades of owning businesses, making hard calls, getting things wrong, working ridiculous hours, figuring out the numbers, leading people, fixing what was not working and learning how to build businesses that are not only wildly profitable on paper, but fund a life we love to live.
We bought Woombye Mechanical Repairs in 2005 because we wanted more choices in our life.
More ability to provide for our family.
More room to breathe.
More financial opportunities than a weekly wage could give us.
Since then, we have built and run a mechanical workshop, a bookkeeping business and the kind of businesses that come with real clients, real wages, real tax, real overheads, real teams and real responsibility.
Yes, we still own Woombye Mechanical today so we haven’t forgotten what it feels like when a team member calls in sick, a client needs an answer, the bills land, cash is tight or the decision is yours to make.
That matters, because the advice you need when you own a real business needs to work in the real world, not just on paper or to sound good on Instagram.
Your business should give you more than it takes from you but the reality is that most owners never get to experience how freakin amazing it can really get.

The Fundamentals, The Standard + Getting It DoneI am a mechanic by trade and a business owner by lived experience.
I care about getting the fundamentals right: the work, the people, the systems, the standards and the things that have to happen day in and day out for a business to run well.
I am not above doing what needs to be done, and I believe a clearer process, a stronger standard and a more efficient business let you wear multiple hats without going crazy.
I bring the practical, grounded side of business ownership because a good plan only matters if it works when the phones are ringing, the team needs you and the day gets busy.
Carlee sees the opportunity. Russ makes sure you can carry it.
We have built businesses together for more than 20 years, which means there’s no pretending business and life live in separate boxes.
We know what it is like to talk about cash at the kitchen table. To make a big decision when you are not fully sure. To carry the responsibility of clients, staff and a family at the same time. To back each other, challenge each other and keep building anyway.
It’s all intertwined so it only works if everyone is on the same mission.
